I made this work while Georges River artist in residence - the oysters in the Georges River were nearly wiped out by settlers who collected them to burn the shells for lime (used in the building industry). Then after their numbers  recovered , pollution from the settlers nearly wiped them out again with many people getting very ill after consuming.
