Housing is an issue that affects and concerns us all and the lack of affordable housing in Melbourne is something that urgently needs addressing.The Intra Muros Project was made possible by a Community Project Grant from the Moreland City Council . Held on a very wet Saturday at a busy intersection in Brunswick, 76 members of the local community came together draw attention to issues of housing inaffordability and homelessness. They were photographed with an object that reminded them of home and asked why it reflected that. The memento was then left in the dwelling as an offering to the passing of affordable housing. The house , objects, images and ruminations will be the basis for The Intra Muros Project # 2 - an exhibition to be held in 2012. I was extremely grateful to everyone who took part.
