There's nothing like a bit of publicity! Thank-you Channel 10 weather and Jayde Cotic for taking the work out to the masses.

Hundreds of notes were contributed to this work during the exhibition- many from children voicing their concerns for our oceans.

Let's get real was commissioned by the Frankston council for the  10 day South Side Festival. The exhibition was held in the magnificent Clube 37 Gallery and ran from 10 -31 May.

The immersive art installation examined plastic productions impact on our wildlife, environment and potantially every person on this planet and invited community to contribute their thoughts and also participate in the family friendly drop-in workshops.

As with  my 2023 exhibition While we were sleeping, I used recycled objects and collected plastic waste from local beaches to make works which articulated the sheer volume and variety of single use items contributing to environmental devastation.

Two of the key works was a wall installation made out of shredded thongs  (pictured below)and an underwaterscape using projection to give the work a truly immersive feel.

I was heartened by the many conversations I had with visitors- both with people new to my work and others who had visited my exhibitions before. People really do care and make a point of doing what they can to contribute to a more sustainable future.
